• Week 2 Terms 2 2018

    This term has started beautifully. There have been a few tears from some of the younger children who take a little while settling in again after the holidays. This is completely normal as they have had mum, dad or grandma or the nanny with them at home for 2 whole weeks and having to go into the classroom again can be somewhat daunting.The teachers here are very experienced at re-directing the children and very soon they feel comfortable again.   • Week 3 Term 1 2018

    It has been so nice to see all the returning children coming into their classrooms with huge smiles on their faces. Some of the new children have started their transition and although there are a few who are somewhat nervous, once they are in the room and observe the older children calmly working on the materials they usually settle down. The first few weeks are a slow transition for the children as we want them to be confident within the room before we extend their days and hours.     WAYS TO HELP YOUR CHILD CONCENTRATE Make Sure the Child is GettingEnough Sleep: Most people don’t realize how much sleep babies and children need to support their growth and development. According to WebMD, children from 1 to 12 months need 14 to 15 hours of sleep, while 1-3 year olds need 12 – 14 hours and 3-6 year olds need 10.     We have had a wonderful start to Term 2.
